my story
-
I have been working with clay for nearly 13 years, specializing in teapots and large vases. Some of my most cherished pieces are my large, spider-inspired teapots with extended, sculptural legs. My journey in ceramics began as a teenager in New Hampshire. It was during this period that I fell in love with the community-oriented nature of ceramics and the world of this art form as a whole, largely thanks to my teacher, Ara Cardew.
I studied Studio Art with a focus in ceramics at Hunter College in New York City. While living in Manhattan, I expanded my technical knowledge and deepened my understanding of ceramics through both my personal work and my role as a teacher, offering beginner and intermediate courses. I also gained invaluable experience in the logistics of processing work.
I continue to teach at the
Chicago Ceramic Center.
